Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The Soiree House! These Terms & Conditions apply to everyone who attends or performs at our events. By registering, performing, or joining us as an audience member, you agree to follow these guidelines so we can keep our space safe, creative, and welcoming for all.

1. ELIGIBILITY

1.1 Open mic performance slots are available to individuals aged 16 and above.

1.2 Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian permission to perform.

1.3 Performances can be in any language, as long as they follow our Code of Conduct.

2. CODE OF CONDUCT

We are building a respectful and inclusive creative community

2.1 Performer Content Guidelines

Performances must not include:
•Explicit sexual content or extreme vulgarity
•Hate speech or discriminatory language
•Content that promotes violence, harassment, or illegal activities
•Religious preaching or political campaigning intended to provoke or influence the audience
Our host may pause or stop a performance if it crosses these boundaries or makes the space uncomfortable.

2.2 Audience Behaviour

Audience members are expected to:
•Support and respect performers
•Avoid heckling, harassment, or loud disruptions
•Follow venue rules and staff instructions
Anyone behaving in a way that affects the comfort or safety of others may be asked to leave without a refund.

3. REGISTRATION, TICKETS AND FEES

3.1 All registrations and tickets are valid only for the event date selected.

3.2 Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except if the Organiser cancels the event (under Sec 9).

3.3 Performer spots are limited and confirmed only after:
•Successful registration
•Payment
3.4 Friends or family attending must register separately as audience members. 3.5 Late performers may lose their slot at the Organiser’s discretion.

4. PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

4.1 Each performer must follow the time limit given. 4.2 Performers should bring any special equipment they need unless arranged in advance. 4.3 The Organiser is not responsible for:
•Forgotten items
•Equipment failure
•Personal technical difficulties

5. PROMOTIONS & SELLING

5.1 Performers may not promote brands, services, or products during their act without prior approval.

5.2 Selling merchandise, distributing flyers, or advertising at the venue requires permission.

5.3 Unauthorised promotions may lead to the performance being stopped and possible limits on future participation.

6. PHOTOS, VIDEOS & RECORDINGS

6.1 Events may be photographed or recorded. 6.2 By attending or performing, you give The Soiree House permission to use photos, videos, or recordings that include you for:
•Social media
•Promotional materials
•Website or online content
6.3 No payment will be made for this usage.

6.4 Guests may take personal photos or videos for non-commercial use if they do not disturb others.

7. HEALTH, SAFETY & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

7.1 All participants attend events at their own risk.

7.2 The Organiser is not responsible for:
•Injury
•Lost, stolen, or damaged belongings
•Indirect or unexpected losses
7.3 Everyone must follow venue safety rules and emergency instructions.

8. RIGHT OF ADMISSION

We may refuse entry or remove anyone who:
•Breaks these Terms
•Is intoxicated or behaving unsafely
•Makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe
No refund will be given in such cases.

9. EVENT CHANGES OR CANCELLATION

9.1 Sometimes changes are unavoidable. We may reschedule, modify, or cancel events due to:
•Venue issues
•Technical problems
•Government regulations
•Safety concerns
9.2 If we cancel an event, we may offer:
•A refund, or
•Transfer to a future event

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

10.1 Performers keep ownership of their original work.

10.2 By performing, you allow The Soiree House to record and use your performance as described in Section 6.

11. UPDATES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on our official platforms. Continuing to attend or perform means you accept any updates
